SEC. 138. PROCUREMENT OF JOINT PRIMARY AIRCRAFT TRAINING SYSTEM AIRCRAFT AFTER FISCAL YEAR 2006. Any Joint Primary Aircraft Training System (JPATS) aircraft procured after fiscal year 2006 shall be procured through a contract under part 15 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), relating to acquisition of items by negotiated contract (48 C.F.R. 15.000 et seq.), rather than through a contract under part 12 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation, relating to acquisition of commercial items (48 C.F.R. 12.000 et seq.).
