SEC. 1033. REPORT ON FEASIBILITY OF ESTABLISHING A REGIONAL COMBATANT COMMAND FOR AFRICA.(a) Report Required.—Not later than 180 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Defense shall submit to the Committee on Armed Services of the Senate and the Committee on Armed Services of the House of Representatives a report on the establishment under chapter 6 of title 10, United States Code, of a new unified combatant command with a geographic area of responsibility consisting of the African continent and adjacent waters.(b) Content.—The report under subsection (a) shall include—(1) a study on the feasibility and advisability of establishing a combatant command for Africa as described in subsection (a);(2) an assessment of the benefits and problems associated with establishing such a command; and(3) an estimate of the costs, time, and resources needed to establish such a command.
