SEC. 416. USE OF QUALIFIED MORTGAGE BONDS TO FINANCE RESIDENCES FOR VETERANS WITHOUT REGARD TO FIRST-TIME HOMEBUYER REQUIREMENT.(a) In General.—Section 143(d)(2) (relating to exceptions to 3-year requirement) is amended by striking “and” at the end of subparagraph (B), by adding “and” at the end of subparagraph (C), and by inserting after subparagraph (C) the following new subparagraph:“(D) in the case of bonds issued after the date of the enactment of this subparagraph and before January 1, 2008, financing of any residence for a veteran (as defined in section 101 of title 38, United States Code), if such veteran has not previously qualified for and received such financing by reason of this subparagraph,”.(b) Effective Date.—The amendments made by this section shall apply to bonds issued after the date of the enactment of this Act.
