INCLUSION OF BUY AMERICA REQUIREMENTS IN TITLE 23.

SEC. 1903. INCLUSION OF BUY AMERICA REQUIREMENTS IN TITLE 23.(a) In General.—Chapter 3 of title 23, United States Code, is amended by inserting after section 312—(1) the following:119 STAT. 1465 “§ 313. Buy America” ;and(2) the text of section 165 of the Highway Improvement Act of 1982 (23 U.S.C. 101 note; 96 Stat. 2136).(b) Clerical Amendment.—The analysis for chapter 3 of such title is amended by inserting after the item relating to section 312 the following: “313. Buy America.”. (c) Conforming Amendments.—Section 313 of such title (as added by subsection (a)) is amended—(1) in subsection (a) by striking “by this Act” the first place it appears and all that follows through “of 1978” and inserting “to carry out the Surface Transportation Assistance Act of 1982 (96 Stat. 2097) or this title”;(2) in subsection (b) by redesignating paragraph (4) as paragraph (3);(3) in subsection (d) by striking “this Act,” and all that follows through “Code, which” and inserting “the Surface Transportation Assistance Act of 1982 (96 Stat. 2097) or this title that”;(4) by striking subsection (e); and(5) by redesignating subsections (f) and (g) as subsections (e) and (f), respectively.(d) Conforming Repeal.—Section 165 of the Highway Improvement Act of 1982 (23 U.S.C. 101 note; 96 Stat. 2136) is repealed.
