Sec. 825. (a) Direct Appropriation.—Section 307(a) of the District of Columbia Court Reform and Criminal Procedure Act of 1970 (sec. 2–1607(a), D.C. Official Code) is amended by striking the first 2 sentences and inserting the following: “There are authorized to be appropriated to the Service in each fiscal year such funds as may be necessary to carry out this chapter.”.(b) Conforming Amendment.—Section 11233 of the Balanced Budget Act of 1997 (sec. 24–133, D.C. Official Code) is amended by striking subsection (f).(e) Effective Date.—The amendments made by this section shall apply with respect to fiscal year 2008 and each succeeding fiscal year.
