SEC. 532. REPORT ON SUCCESS OF ARMY NATIONAL GUARD AND RESERVE SENIOR RESERVE OFFICERS’ TRAINING CORPS FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM.(a) Report Required.—Not later than 150 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of the Army shall submit to the Committees on Armed Services of the Senate and the House of Representatives a report on the success of the financial assistance program of the Senior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps under section 2107a of title 10, United States Code, in securing the appointment of second lieutenants in the Army Reserve and Army National Guard. The report shall include detailed information on the appointment of cadets under the financial assistance program who are enrolled in an educational institution described in subsection (b) and address the efforts of the Secretary to increase awareness of the availability and advantages of appointment in the Senior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps at these institutions and to increase the number of cadets at these institutions.(b) Covered Educational Institutions.—The educational institutions referred to in subsection (a) are the following:(1) An historically Black college or university that is a part B institution, as defined in section 322(2) of the Higher Education Act of 1965 (20 U.S.C. 1061(2)).(2) A minority institution, as defined in section 365(3) of that Act (20 U.S.C. 1067k(3)).(3) An Hispanic-serving institution, as defined in section 502(a)(5) of that Act (20 U.S.C. 1101a(a)(5)).122 STAT. 112
