SEC. 228. STUDY AND REPORT ON IMPROVING ACCESS TO MEDICAL ADVICE.(a) Study.—The Secretary of Veterans Affairs shall conduct a study—(1) to assess the feasibility and advisability of various mechanisms to improve communication between the Veterans Benefits Administration and the Veterans Health Administration to provide Veterans Benefits Administration employees with access to medical advice from the Veterans Health Administration when needed by such employees to carry out their duties; and(2) to evaluate whether additional medical professionals are necessary to provide the access described in paragraph (1).(b) Report to Congress.—Not later than 180 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary shall submit to Congress a report on the study conducted under subsection (a).
