REPORT ON DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE RESPONSE TO FINDINGS AND RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE DEFENSE SCIENCE BOARD TASK FORCE ON DIRECTED ENERGY WEAPONS.
SEC. 243. REPORT ON DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE RESPONSE TO FINDINGS AND RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE DEFENSE SCIENCE BOARD TASK FORCE ON DIRECTED ENERGY WEAPONS.(a) Report Required.—Not later than January 1, 2010, the Secretary of Defense shall submit to the Committee on Armed Services of the Senate and the Committee on Armed Services of the House of Representatives a report on the implementation of the recommendations of the Defense Science Board Task Force on Directed Energy Weapons.(b) Elements.—The report required by subsection (a) shall include the following:(1) An analysis of each of the findings and recommendations of the Defense Science Board Task Force on Directed Energy Weapons.(2) A detailed description of the response of the Department of Defense to each finding and recommendation of the Task Force, including—(A) for each recommendation that is being implemented or that the Secretary plans to implement—(i) a summary of actions that have been taken to implement such recommendation; and122 STAT. 4400(ii) a schedule, with specific milestones, for completing the implementation of such recommendation; and(B) for each recommendation that the Secretary does not plan to implement—(i) the reasons for the decision not to implement such recommendation; and(ii) a summary of the alternative actions the Secretary plans to take to address the purposes underlying such recommendation.(3) A summary of any additional actions the Secretary plans to take to address concerns raised by the Task Force.
