SPECIAL WEIGHT ALLOWANCE FOR TRANSPORTATION OF PROFESSIONAL BOOKS AND EQUIPMENT FOR SPOUSES.

SEC. 621. SPECIAL WEIGHT ALLOWANCE FOR TRANSPORTATION OF PROFESSIONAL BOOKS AND EQUIPMENT FOR SPOUSES. Section 406(b)(1)(D) of title 37, United States Code, is amended—122 STAT. 4492(1) by inserting “(i)” after “(D)”;(2) in the second sentence of clause (i), as designated by paragraph (1), by striking “this subparagraph” and inserting “this clause”;(3) by designating the last sentence as clause (iii) and indenting the margin of such clause, as so designated, two ems from the left margin; and(4) by inserting after clause (i), as designated by paragraph (1), the following new clause:“(ii) In addition to the weight allowance authorized for such member with dependents under paragraph (C), the Secretary concerned may authorize up to an additional 500 pounds in weight allowance for shipment of professional books and equipment belonging to the spouse of such member.”.
