CERTIFICATION OF ENHANCED USE LEASES FOR ENERGY-RELATED PROJECTS.

SEC. 2831. CERTIFICATION OF ENHANCED USE LEASES FOR ENERGY-RELATED PROJECTS. Section 2667(h) of title 10, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following new paragraph:“(5) If a proposed lease under subsection (a) involves a project related to energy production and the term of the lease exceeds 20 years, the Secretary concerned may not enter into the lease until at least 30 days after the date on which the Secretary of Defense submits to the congressional defense committees a certification that the project is consistent with the Department of Defense performance goals and plan required by section 2911 of this title.”.
