DEFINITIONS.
SEC. 401. DEFINITIONS.(a) In General.—Section 501 of the Homeland Security Act of 2002 (6 U.S.C. 311) is amended—(1) by redesignating paragraphs (10) and (11) as paragraphs (12) and (13), respectively;121 STAT. 302(2) by redesignating paragraphs (4) through (9) as paragraphs (5) through (10), respectively;(3) by inserting after paragraph (3) the following:“(4) the terms ‘credentialed’ and ‘credentialing’ mean having provided, or providing, respectively, documentation that identifies personnel and authenticates and verifies the qualifications of such personnel by ensuring that such personnel possess a minimum common level of training, experience, physical and medical fitness, and capability appropriate for a particular position in accordance with standards created under section 510;”;(4) by inserting after paragraph (10), as so redesignated, the following:“(11) the term ‘resources’ means personnel and major items of equipment, supplies, and facilities available or potentially available for responding to a natural disaster, act of terrorism, or other man-made disaster;”;(5) in paragraph (12), as so redesignated, by striking “and” at the end;(6) in paragraph (13), as so redesignated, by striking the period at the end and inserting “; and”; and(7) by adding at the end the following:“(14) the terms ‘typed’ and ‘typing’ mean having evaluated, or evaluating, respectively, a resource in accordance with standards created under section 510.”.(b) Technical and Conforming Amendments.—Section 641 of the Post-Katrina Emergency Management Reform Act of 2006 (6 U.S.C. 741) is amended—(1) by redesignating paragraphs (2) through (10) as paragraphs (3) through (11), respectively;(2) by inserting after paragraph (1) the following:“(2) Credentialed; credentialing.—The terms ‘credentialed’ and ‘credentialing’ have the meanings given those terms in section 501 of the Homeland Security Act of 2002 (6 U.S.C. 311).”; and(3) by adding at the end the following:“(12) Resources.—The term ‘resources’ has the meaning given that term in section 501 of the Homeland Security Act of 2002 (6 U.S.C. 311).“(13) Type.—The term ‘type’ means a classification of resources that refers to the capability of a resource.“(14) Typed; typing.—The terms ‘typed’ and ‘typing’ have the meanings given those terms in section 501 of the Homeland Security Act of 2002 (6 U.S.C. 311).”.
