SEC. 7204. HARRIET BEECHER STOWE HOUSE, MAINE.(a) Study.—(1) In general.—Not later than 3 years after the date on which funds are made available to carry out this section, the Secretary of the Interior (referred to in this section as the “Secretary”) shall complete a special resource study of the Harriet Beecher Stowe House in Brunswick, Maine, to evaluate—(A) the national significance of the Harriet Beecher Stowe House and surrounding land; and(B) the suitability and feasibility of designating the Harriet Beecher Stowe House and surrounding land as a unit of the National Park System.(2) Study guidelines.—In conducting the study authorized under paragraph (1), the Secretary shall use the criteria for the study of areas for potential inclusion in the National Park System contained in section 8(c) of Public Law 91–383 (16 U.S.C. 1a–5(c)).(b) Report.—On completion of the study required under subsection (a), the Secretary shall submit to the Committee on Energy and Natural Resources of the Senate and the Committee on Natural Resources of the House of Representatives a report containing the findings, conclusions, and recommendations of the study.(c) Authorization of Appropriations.—There are authorized to be appropriated such sums as are necessary to carry out this section.
