TRAINING.
SEC. 1506. TRAINING. Section 156 (42 U.S.C. 12616) is amended—(1) in subsection (a)—(A) by inserting “National” before “Civilian Community Corps”; and(B) by adding at the end the following: “The Director shall ensure that, to the extent practicable, each member of the Corps is trained in CPR, first aid, and other skills related to disaster preparedness and response.”;(2) in subsection (b)(1), by inserting before the period at the end the following: “, including a focus on energy conservation, environmental stewardship or conservation, infrastructure improvement, urban and rural development, or disaster preparedness needs, as appropriate”;(3) by amending subsection (c)(2) to read as follows:“(2) Coordination with other entities.—Members of the cadre may provide, either directly or through grants, contracts, or cooperative agreements, the advanced service training referred to in subsection (b)(1) in coordination with vocational or technical schools, other employment and training providers, existing youth service programs, other qualified individuals, or organizations with expertise in training youth, including disadvantaged youth, in the skills described in such subsection.”; and(4) in subsection (d), by striking “section 162(a)(3)” and inserting “section 162(c)”.
