SEC. 216. ENFORCEMENT OF COASTWISE TRADE LAWS.(a) In General.—Chapter 5 of title 14, United States Code, is further amended by adding at the end the following:“§ 100. Enforcement of coastwise trade laws “Officers and members of the Coast Guard are authorized to enforce chapter 551 of title 46. The Secretary shall establish a program for these officers and members to enforce that chapter.” .(b) Clerical Amendment.—The analysis for that chapter is further amended by adding at the end the following new item: “100. Enforcement of coastwise trade laws.”. (c) Report.—The Secretary of the department in which the Coast Guard is operating shall submit a report to the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure of the House of Representatives and the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation within 1 year after the date of enactment of this Act on the enforcement strategies and enforcement actions taken to enforce the coastwise trade laws.
