SEC. 211. ENHANCEMENT OF DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE SUPPORT OF SCIENCE, MATHEMATICS, AND ENGINEERING EDUCATION.(a) Discharge of Support Through Military Departments.—Section 2192(b) of title 10, United States Code, is amended—(1) by redesignating paragraph (2) as paragraph (3); and(2) by inserting after paragraph (1) the following new paragraph (2):“(2) The Secretary of Defense may carry out the authority in paragraph (1) through the Secretaries of the military departments.”.124 STAT. 4163(b) Partnership Intermediaries for Purposes of Education Partnerships.—Section 2194 of such title is amended—(1) by redesignating subsection (e) as subsection (f); and(2) by inserting after subsection (d) the following new subsection (e):“(e) The Secretary of Defense may permit the director of a defense laboratory to enter into a cooperative agreement with an appropriate entity to act as an intermediary and assist the director in carrying out activities under this section.”.
