SEC. 1204. AUTHORITY TO PAY PERSONNEL EXPENSES IN CONNECTION WITH AFRICAN COOPERATION.(a) In General.—Chapter 53 of title 10, United States Code, is amended by inserting after section 1050 the following new section:“§ 1050a. African cooperation: payment of personnel expenses “The Secretary of Defense or the Secretary of a military department may pay the travel, subsistence, and special compensation of officers and students of African countries and other expenses that the Secretary considers necessary for African cooperation.” .124 STAT. 4387(b) Clerical Amendment.—The table of sections at the beginning of chapter 53 of such title is amended by inserting after the item relating to section 1050 the following new item: “1050a. African cooperation: payment of personnel expenses.”.
