reduction of appropriations Sec. 601. Each appropriation item, direct loan obligation limit, loan guarantee commitment limit, or obligation limit provided by this Act shall be reduced by 0.43 per centum: Provided, That such reduction shall be applied proportionally to each program, project, and activity as set forth in section 543 of this Act: Provided further, That programs and activities exempt from sequestration under section 255 of the Deficit Control Act of 1985 shall be exempt from the uniform reduction required by this paragraph.
