SEC. 4404. DESIGNATIONS. (a) Designation.—In the States of Alaska and Hawaii, members of the State legislature may serve on the policy board of a metropolitan planning organization designated under section 134 of title 23, United States Code, if such service is allowed by State law. (b) Redesignation.—In the States of Alaska and Hawaii, a metropolitan planning organization designated under section 134 of title 23, United States Code, may be redesignated as a result of changes in State law that define new requirements for the metropolitan planning organization policy board. * * * * * * *
