SEC. 1079. REPORT ON DEFENSE DEPARTMENT ANALYTIC CAPABILITIES REGARDING FOREIGN BALLISTIC MISSILE THREATS. (a) Report Required.—Not later than 180 days after the date of enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Defense shall submit to the congressional defense committees a report on the analytic capabilities of the Department of Defense regarding threats from foreign ballistic missiles of all ranges. (b) Elements.—The report required by subsection (a) shall include the following: (1) A description of the current capabilities of the Department of Defense to analyze threats from foreign ballistic missiles of all ranges, including the degree of coordination among the relevant analytic elements of the Department. (2) A description of any current or foreseeable gaps in the analytic capabilities of the Department regarding threats from foreign ballistic missiles of all ranges. (3) A plan to address any gaps identified pursuant to paragraph (2) during the 5-year period beginning on the date of the report. (c) Form.—The report required by subsection (a) shall be submitted in unclassified form, but may include a classified annex.
