AMENDMENTS RELATING TO AUTHORITY OF THE DEFENSE ADVANCED RESEARCH PROJECTS AGENCY TO CARRY OUT CERTAIN PROTOTYPE PROJECTS.

SEC. 812. AMENDMENTS RELATING TO AUTHORITY OF THE DEFENSE ADVANCED RESEARCH PROJECTS AGENCY TO CARRY OUT CERTAIN PROTOTYPE PROJECTS. (a) Amendment Relating to Authority.—Section 845(a)(1) of Public Law 103-160 (10 U.S.C. 2371 note) is amended by striking “weapons or weapon systems proposed to be acquired or developed by the Department of Defense, or to improvement of weapons or weapon systems in use by the Armed Forces” and inserting the following: “enhancing the mission effectiveness of military personnel and the supporting platforms, systems, components, or materials proposed to be acquired or developed by the Department of Defense, or to improvement of platforms, systems, components, or materials in use by the Armed Forces”. (b) Amendments Relating to Small Business.—Section 845 of Public Law 103-160 (10 U.S.C. 2371 note) is amended— (1) in subsection (d)(1)(B), by inserting “or small business” after “defense contractor”; and (2) in subsection (f)— (A) by striking “Nontraditional Defense Contractor Defined.—In this section, the” and inserting the following:“Definitions.—In this section: “(1) The” ; and (B) by adding at the end the following new paragraph: “(2) The term ‘small business’ means a small business concern as defined under section 3 of the Small Business Act (15 U.S.C. 632).” .
