SEC. 305. REDUCTION OF REMARRIAGE AGE.
(a) * * *
(b) [50 U.S.C. 2001 nt] Effective Date of Amendments.—(1) The amendments made by subsection (a) relating to widows or widowers shall apply in the case of a surviving spouse's remarriage occurring on or after July 27, 1989, and with respect to periods beginning after such date.
(2) The amendments made by subsection (a) relating to former spouses shall apply with respect to any former spouse whose remarriage occurs after the date of enactment of this Act.
