SEC. 320106. INCREASED PENALTIES FOR ARSON. Section 844 of title 18, United States Code, is amended— (1) in subsection (f)— (A) by striking “not more than ten years, or fined not more than $10,000” and inserting “not more than 20 years, fined the greater of the fine under this title or the cost of repairing or replacing any property that is damaged or destroyed,”; and (B) by striking “not more than twenty years, or fined not more than $10,000” and inserting “not more than 40 years, fined the greater of the fine under this title or the cost of repairing or replacing any property that is damaged or destroyed,”; (2) in subsection (h)— (A) in the first sentence by striking “five years” and inserting “5 years but not more than 15 years”; and (B) in the second sentence by striking “ten years” and inserting “10 years but not more than 25 years”; and (3) in subsection (i)— (A) by striking “not more than ten years or fined not more than $10,000” and inserting “not more than 20 years, fined the greater of the fine under this title or the cost of repairing or replacing any property that is damaged or destroyed,”; and (B) by striking “not more than twenty years or fined not more than $20,000” and inserting “not more than 40 years, fined the greater of the fine under this title or the cost of repairing or replacing any property that is damaged or destroyed,”.
