SEC. 903. ASSISTANT SECRETARY OF DEFENSE FOR INDUSTRIAL BASE POLICY. (a) Increase in Authorized Number of Assistant Secretaries of Defense.—Subsection (a)(1) of section 138 of title 10, United States Code, is amended by striking “13” and inserting “14”. (b) Assistant Secretary of Defense for Industrial Base Policy.—Subsection (b) of that section is amended by adding at the end the following new paragraph: “(6) One of the Assistant Secretaries is the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Industrial Base Policy. The Assistant Secretary shall— “(A) advise the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment on industrial base policies; and “(B) perform other duties as directed by the Under Secretary.” .
