SEC. 856. APPLICATION OF LIMITATION ON PROCUREMENT OF GOODS OTHER THAN UNITED STATES GOODS TO THE FFG-FRIGATE PROGRAM. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, amounts authorized to carry out the FFG-Frigate Program may be used to award a new contract that provides for the acquisition of the following components regardless of whether those components are manufactured in the United States: (1) Auxiliary equipment (including pumps) for shipboard services. (2) Propulsion equipment (including engines, reduction gears, and propellers). (3) Shipboard cranes. (4) Spreaders for shipboard cranes.
