SEC. 1668. ELIMINATION OF CONVENTIONAL REQUIREMENT FOR LONG-RANGE STANDOFF WEAPON. Subsection (a) of section 217 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2014 (Public Law 113-66; 127 Stat. 706), as amended by section 1662 of the John S. McCain National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2019 (Public Law 115-232; 132 Stat. 2152), is amended to read as follows: “(a) Long-range Standoff Weapon.—The Secretary of the Air Force shall develop a follow-on air-launched cruise missile to the AGM-86 that— “(1) achieves initial operating capability for nuclear missions prior to the retirement of the nuclear-armed AGM-86; and “(2) is capable of internal carriage and employment for nuclear missions on the next-generation long-range strike bomber.” .
