SEC. 813. REPORT ON UNITED STATES SOUTHERN COMMAND INTELLIGENCE CAPABILITIES. (a) Report Required.—Not later than 120 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency, in consultation with such other Federal Government entities as the Director considers relevant, and consistent with the protection of intelligence sources and methods, shall submit to the appropriate congressional committees a report detailing the status of the intelligence collection, analysis, and operational capabilities of the United States Southern Command to support Latin America-based missions. (b) Form.—The report required by subsection (a) shall be submitted in unclassified form, but may include a classified annex. (c) Appropriate Congressional Committees Defined.—In this section, the term “appropriate congressional committees” means— (1) the congressional intelligence committees; and (2) the congressional defense committees.
