SEC. 706. REPORT ON INFLUENCE OF CHINA THROUGH BELT AND ROAD INITIATIVE PROJECTS WITH OTHER COUNTRIES.
(a) Report.—Not later than 180 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Director of National Intelligence, consistent with the protection of intelligence sources and methods, shall submit to the appropriate congressional committees a report on recent projects negotiated by China with other countries as part of the Belt and Road Initiative of China. The Director shall include in the report information about the types of such projects, costs of such projects, and the potential national security implications of such projects.
(b) Form.—The report under subsection (a) shall be submitted in unclassified form, but may include a classified annex.
(c) Appropriate Congressional Committees Defined.—In this section, the term “appropriate congressional committees” means—
(1) the congressional intelligence committees;
(2) the Committee on Foreign Relations of the Senate; and
(3) the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the House of Representatives.
