SEC. 358. NOTIFICATION OF MODIFICATION TO POLICY REGARDING RETENTION RATES FOR NAVY SHIP REPAIR CONTRACTS. (a) Notification.—The Secretary of the Navy may not modify the general policy of the Department of the Navy regarding retention rates for contracts for Navy ship repair until a period of 15 days has elapsed following the date on which the Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Research, Development, and Acquisition submits to the congressional defense committees a notification that includes, with respect to such modification, the following information: (1) An identification of any considerations that informed the decision to so modify. (2) A description of the desired effect of the modification on the Navy ship repair industrial base. (b) Termination.—This section, and the requirements thereof, shall terminate on September 30, 2025.
