SEC. 717. AUTHORITY TO CARRY OUT STUDIES AND DEMONSTRATION PROJECTS RELATING TO DELIVERY OF HEALTH AND MEDICAL CARE THROUGH USE OF OTHER TRANSACTION AUTHORITY. (a) In General.—Section 1092(b) of title 10, United States Code, is amended by inserting “or transactions (other than contracts, cooperative agreements, and grants)” after “contracts”. (b) Briefing.—Not later than 180 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Defense shall provide to the Committees on Armed Services of the Senate and the House of Representatives a briefing on how the Secretary intends to use the authority to enter into transactions under section 1092(b) of title 10, United States Code, as amended by subsection (a).
