SEC. 1108. EXPANSION OF RATE OF OVERTIME PAY AUTHORITY FOR DEPARTMENT OF THE NAVY EMPLOYEES PERFORMING WORK OVERSEAS ON NAVAL VESSELS. Section 5542(a)(6)(A) of title 5, United States Code, is amended— (1) by inserting “outside the United States” after “temporary duty”; (2) by striking “the nuclear aircraft carrier that is forward deployed in Japan” and inserting “naval vessels”; (3) by inserting “of 1938” after “Fair Labor Standards Act”; and (4) by striking “the overtime” and all that follows through the period at the end and inserting “the employee shall be coded and paid overtime as if the employee’s exemption status under that Act is the same as it is at the employee’s permanent duty station.”.
