SEC. 1666. MISSILE DEFENSE RADAR IN HAWAII. As a part of the defense budget materials (as defined in section 239 of title 10, United States Code) for fiscal year 2023, the Director of the Missile Defense Agency shall certify to the congressional defense committees thatโ€” (1) the future-years defense program submitted to Congress under section 221 of title 10, United States Code, in 2022 includes adequate amounts of estimated funding to develop, construct, test, and integrate into the missile defense system the discrimination radar for homeland defense planned to be located in Hawaii; and (2) such radar and associated in-flight interceptor communications system data terminal will be operational by not later than December 31, 2028.
