SEC. 1042. MODIFICATION OF NOTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS FOR SENSITIVE MILITARY OPERATIONS. Section 130f(d) of title 10, United States Code, is amended— (1) by striking “(1) Except as provided in paragraph (2), in” and inserting “In”; (2) by striking paragraph (2); (3) by redesignating subparagraphs (A) and (B) as paragraphs (1) and (2), respectively; (4) in paragraph (1), as so redesignated, by striking “; or” and inserting a semicolon; (5) in paragraph (2), as so redesignated, by striking the period at the end and inserting “; or”; and (6) by adding at the end the following new paragraph: “(3) an operation conducted by the armed forces to free an individual from the control of hostile foreign forces.” .
