SEC. 1224. PROHIBITION ON PROVIDING FUNDING TO IRANIAN ENTITIES. (a) In General.—None of the funds authorized to be appropriated to the Department of Defense or otherwise made available by this Act may be made available, directly or indirectly, to— (1) the Government of Iran; (2) any person owned or controlled by the Government of Iran; (3) any person that is on the List of Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons maintained by the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the Department of the Treasury and the property and interests in property of which are blocked pursuant to the International Emergency Economic Powers Act ; or (4) any person owned or controlled by a person described in paragraph (3). (b) Exception for Intelligence Activities.—The prohibition under subsection (a) shall not apply with respect to activities subject to the reporting requirements under title V of the National Security Act of 1947 (50 U.S.C. 3091 et seq.) or any authorized intelligence activities of the United States.
