SEC. 2314. CAREER COUNSELING. (a) In General.—Section 706(a) of the Foreign Service Act of 1980 (22 U.S.C. 4026(a)) is amended by adding at the end the following new sentence: “Career counseling and related services provided pursuant to this Act shall not be construed to permit an assignment that consists primarily of paid time to conduct a job search and without other substantive duties for more than one month.”. (b) Effective Date.—The amendment made by subsection (a) shall be effective 180 days after the date of the enactment of this Act.
