SEC. 2203. RETENTION OF ADDITIONAL DEFENSE TRADE CONTROLS REGISTRATION FEES. Section 45(a) of the State Department Basic Authorities Act of 1956 (22 U.S.C. 2717(a)) is amended— (1) at the end of paragraph (1), by striking “and”; (2) in paragraph (2)— (A) by striking “functions” and inserting “functions, including compliance and enforcement activities,”; and (B) by striking the period at the end and inserting “; and”; and (3) by adding at the end the following new paragraph: “(3) the enhancement of defense trade export compliance and enforcement activities, including compliance audits of United States and foreign parties, the conduct of administrative proceedings, monitoring of end-uses in cases of direct commercial arms sales or other transfers, and cooperation in proceedings for enforcement of criminal laws related to defense trade export controls.” .
