SEC. 708. UNITED STATES REPRESENTATION AT THE INTERNATIONAL ATOMIC ENERGY AGENCY. (a) Amendment to the United Nations Participation Act of 1945.—Section 2(h) of the United Nations Participation Act of 1945 (22 U.S.C. 287(h)) is amended by adding at the end the following new sentence: “The representative of the United States to the Vienna office of the United Nations shall also serve as representative of the United States to the International Atomic Energy Agency.”. (b) Amendment to the IAEA Participation Act of 1957.—Section 2(a) of the International Atomic Energy Agency Participation Act of 1957 (22 U.S.C. 2021(a)) is amended by adding at the end the following new sentence: “The Representative of the United States to the Vienna office of the United Nations shall also serve as representative of the United States to the Agency.”. (c) Effective Date.—The amendments made by subsections (a) and (b) shall apply to individuals appointed on or after the date of enactment of this Act.
