SEC. 5. [8 U.S.C. 1157 note] INDEPENDENT STATES OF THE FORMER SOVIET UNION DEFINED. In this Act, the term “independent states of the former Soviet Union” has the meaning given the term in section 3 of the FREEDOM Support Act (22 U.S.C. 5801).
