SEC. 407. REVISION OF STUDENT ASSISTANCE GENERAL PROVISIONS. (a) Amendment.—Part G of title IV of the Act (as redesignated by section 406) is amended to read as follows: * * * * * * * [Text as amended printed earlier in this volume.] (b) Effective Dates.—(1) Sections 483(e) and 484(d) of the Act as amended by this section shall apply to student assistance awarded for periods of enrollment beginning on or after July 1, 1987. (2) The changes made in section 484(a)(1) of the Act shall apply to student assistance awarded for periods of enrollment beginning on or after July 1, 1987. (3) Section 484(c) of the Act as amended by this section shall apply only to student assistance awarded for periods of enrollment beginning on or after July 1, 1987, to individuals who were not awarded such assistance for any preceding period of enrollment. (4) Sections 484(f), 485(b), and 487(a)(10) of the Act as amended by this section shall apply only to periods of enrollment beginning on or after July 1, 1987. * * * * * * *
