59A-38.014. Nutritional Services

The administrator shall ensure that dietary services and nutritional counseling services are available to all patient and family units in all components of hospice care on an as-needed basis. (1) The administrator shall ensure the development, documentation and implementation of written policies and procedures for dietary services including nutritional counseling services. (2) In hospice residential care and hospice inpatient care settings, the hospice shall provide consultation by a licensed dietitian on practical freedom-of-choice diets for hospice patients and shall ensure that patients’ favorite foods are included in their diets whenever possible.
