64B7-32.005 Minimum Standards for Colonics Irrigation Training Programs.
(1) Board approved massage therapy schools shall submit documentation of any colonic irrigation training program to be offered to the board for approval. A training program in colonic irrigation shall include all required hours listed below, completed at a rate of no more than 6 hours per day and no more than 30 hours per calendar week:
Subject Area Required Classroom Hours Theory, anatomy, physiology, pathology of the colon and digestive system and principles of colon hygiene. 50 Clinical practicum, including procedure, history, clinical records, indications and contra-indication, and 20 treatments. 45 Sterilization techniques and equipment training. 5 (2) The program instructor must be a licensed massage therapist who is certified in colonic irrigation.
(3) A Board approved massage therapy school must receive approval prior to offering colonic irrigation training.
