64E-5.225. Public Notification and Public Participation

Upon the receipt of a license termination or decommissioning plan or a proposal for release of a site as specified in Rule 64E-5.223 or 64E-5.224, F.A.C., and the total effective dose equivalent will exceed 50 millirem (0.5 mSv), the department shall: (1) Notify and solicit comments from: (a) Local and other state governments in the vicinity of the site and any Indian Nation or other indigenous people that could be affected by the decommissioning; and, (b) The U. S. Environmental Protection Agency if the licensee proposes to release a site as specified in Rule 64E-5.224, F.A.C. (2) Publish a notice in the Florida Administrative Register to solicit comments from affected parties.
