Classes of licenses.
(1) Any person, firm, company, partnership, or corporation which engages in business as a private investigative agency shall have a Class โAโ license. A Class โAโ license is valid for only one location.
(2) Each branch office of a Class โAโ agency shall have a Class โAAโ license. Where a person, firm, company, partnership, or corporation holds both a Class โAโ and Class โBโ license, each additional or branch office shall have a Class โABโ license.
(3) Any individual who performs the services of a manager for a: (a) Class โAโ private investigative agency or Class โAAโ branch office shall have a Class โMAโ license. A Class โCโ or Class โMโ licensee may be designated as the manager, in which case the Class โMAโ license is not required. (b) Class โAโ and โBโ agency or a Class โABโ branch office shall have a Class โMโ license.
(4) Class โCโ or Class โCCโ licensees shall own or be an employee of a Class โAโ agency, a Class โAโ and Class โBโ agency, or a branch office. This does not include those who are exempt under s. 493.6102, but who possess a Class โCโ license solely for the purpose of holding a Class โGโ license.
(5) Any individual who performs the services of a private investigator shall have a Class โCโ license.
(6) Any individual who performs private investigative work as an intern under the direction and control of a designated, sponsoring Class โCโ licensee or a designated, sponsoring Class โMAโ or Class โMโ licensee must have a Class โCCโ license.
(7) Only Class โM,โ Class โMA,โ Class โC,โ or Class โCCโ licensees are permitted to bear a firearm, and any such licensee who bears a firearm shall also have a Class โGโ license.
(8) A Class โCโ or Class โCCโ licensee may perform bodyguard services without obtaining a Class โDโ license.
