FRAUDULENT AUDIT NOTICES

BULLETIN 23-EX-8 TO: ALL PHARMACIES OPERATING IN GEORGIA FROM: JOHN F. KING INSURANCE AND SAFETY FIRE COMMISSIONER DATE: MAY 19, 2023 RE: FRAUDULENT AUDIT NOTICES ______________________________________________________________________________ It has come to the Department’s attention that fraudulent audit notices are being sent to some Georgia pharmacies purporting to be from “Express Scripts” and “CVS Caremark.” Pharmacies operating in Georgia, particularly independent pharmacies, who receive audit notices should verify that those audit notices are authentic. As of right now, the Department is unaware of any entity changing its practices with respect to the frequency of audits or the manner in which they are conducted. If a pharmacy believes it has received a fraudulent audit letter, it should immediately contact our Criminal Investigations Division at CID@oci.ga.gov. _____________________________________________ JOHN F.
