KING INSURANCE AND SAFETY FIRE COMMISSIONER DATE: JANUARY 9, 2024 RE: MPOHV MOTOR VEHICLE INSURANCE REGISTRATION The Georgia Commissioner of Insurance would like to remind all motor vehicle carriers and agents that auto insurance coverage on multipurpose off-highway vehicles registered for use on county roads must be reported to the Georgia Department of Revenue's Georgia Electronic Insurance Compliance System (GEICS). 2023 Georgia House Bill 121 amended the motor vehicle code to provide for the registration of "multipurpose off-highway vehicles" (MPOHVs). The Georgia Department of Revenue in response issued Bulletin MVD-2023-06B providing for the registration of MPOHVs. The Georgia Commissioner of Insurance would like to remind the public that this constitutes registration of a motor vehicle in Georgia. All licensed insurers must electronically transmit coverage information of registered MPOHVs to GEICS within 30 days of the date coverage begins. John F. King JOHN F.
