HAR §19-142-6. Types of official inspection station permits

There shall be two types of official inspection station permits to be designated as: (1) Public - to conduct vehicle inspections on all types of vehicles listed on the face of the permit that are presented for inspection; (2) Private - to conduct vehicle inspections only on those types of vehicles listed on the face of the permit which are owned by and registered to the owner and operator of the official inspection station.
