This chapter sets forth minimum
requirements necessary to establish a reasonable level of fire and life
safety and property protection from the hazards created by fire,
explosion, and dangerous conditions. [Eff ] (Auth:
HRS §132-3) (Imp: HRS §132-3)
(The existing scope only addressed “fire loss” and this code does
more than that. This takes text from the “purpose” section of
NFPA 1 because it is more encompassing and reflects the
provisions of the code. The scope of the state fire code include the
diverse aspects relating to fire protection embodied in the latest
edition of a national fire code with applicable state amendments.)
