HAR §11-156.1-51. Relationship to federal and state confidentiality laws

In compliance with the Health Information Portability and Accountability Act of 1996, its implementing regulations, and state law, a person or entity who is required to preserve the confidentiality of protected health information nonetheless shall disclose this information to public health authorities including the department for the purpose of preventing or controlling communicable or dangerous diseases.
