(a) It is unlawful for any person to possess with the intent to sell, or offer for sale, any pāpa‘i kūhonu less than four inches in length or in width across or along its back. (b) It is unlawful for any person to take, possess, or sell any pāpa‘i kūhonu with eggs. Any pāpa‘i kūhonu with eggs caught must immediately be returned to the waters from which the crab was taken. The possession of any pāpa‘i kūhonu, showing indications of its eggs having been scraped or removed is prima facie evidence of a violation of this section. (c) It is unlawful for any person to pursue, take, or kill any pāpa‘i kūhonu in the State with a spear. (d) It is unlawful for any person to offer for sale any speared pāpa‘i kūhonu.
