[R 11/28/11] §11-20-45.1 Disinfectant residuals, disinfection byproducts, and disinfection byproduct precursors. (a) General requirements. (1) The requirements of this section constitute state primary drinking water regulations. (A) The regulations in this section establish criteria under which community water systems (CWSs) and nontransient, non- community water systems (NTNCWSs) which add a chemical disinfectant to the water in any part of the drinking water treatment process must modify their practices to meet MCLs and MRDLs in sections 11-20-4.1 and 11-20-7.5, respectively, and must meet the treatment technique requirements for disinfection byproduct precursors in subsection (f). (B) The regulations in this section establish criteria under which transient NCWSs that use chlorine dioxide as a disinfectant or oxidant must modify their practices to meet the MRDL for chlorine dioxide in section 11-20-7.5.
