Chis: Eligibility Requirements

Participants are eligible from birth through the month of their twenty-first birthday. Participants must have a demonstrated functional need or a combination of functional and behavioral needs that require intervention services to correct or ameliorate their condition. A functional or behavioral need is determined by the Department approved screening tool when a deficit is identified in three (3) or more of the following areas: self-care; receptive and expressive language; learning; mobility; self-direction; capacity for independent living; economic self-sufficiency; or maladaptive behavior. A deficit is defined as one-point-five (1.5) or more standard deviations below the mean for functional areas or above the mean for maladaptive behavior. (7-1-26)
